Shaam-e-ghazal

'Toofaan aaya hai dil mein,
Itne saare jazbaat hain
Intezaar hai ab shab ka,
Unse deedar ki raat hai
Ab nahin koi shikva-gila,
Bade khushnuma haalaat hain
Woh aaye qayaamat ki tarah, wah,
Unki adaa ki kya baat hai!'

"Good" is often the enemy of "best".

great poem. Short and meaningful.

Do u mind if I plagiarize it?

BTW, the quote after the post should be - "Good is often the enemy of great". Its a famous adage of sorts from Jim Collins.

Ankit,

Thanks for stopping by and for the appreciation.

Plagiarising is fine if you either recognise (the original author)or improvise. Take your pick! Personally, I'd be happy to see the latter. :)

Also, I just realised that you used the word 'great', not 'good'! I guess I'm past the enemy for the moment, eh?!

Best,
Meeta

Hi Meeta,

I picked the former for its simplicity ;)

One bad thing about being interested in something different from normal coursework is that it becomes increasingly difficult to keep the writer within working well.

With books on mathematical modelling and economics taking up most of my time, the poetic juice within me has pretty much dried.

Hope you understand.

And yes, who can be enemies with a poet who writes such lovely verses. :)
